MELOA Kick Off Meeting was held in Lisbon, on December 14th and 15th 2017.

The meeting took place in Tryp Hotel Lisboa, where the Consortium met to discuss the MELOA objectives and prepare and set up the roadmap for the upcoming project milestones.

This Consortium brings together 10 entities from 3 European countries in an ambitious project to innovate the marine observation systems, and contribute possitively to:

• Address requirements of different stakeholders for marine in situ data
• Generate valuable in situ data and derived data products for the GEOSS and Copernicus programmes
• Open new opportunities for market development of the European Earth Observation commercial sector and for downstream users
• Implement Sustainable Development Goals 9, 13, and 14
