Recap of 2019 Wavy Test Campaigns

MELOA is an H2020 project that aims to cover marine observation gaps, by developing 5 lines of WAVY drifters - low cost and easy to handle surface drifters designed to collect marine data, from coastal to offshore zones. During 2019, MELOA team organized test campaigns to validate the development phase of the WAVY Littoral.

The campaigns were conducted in Portugal, by our partner Instituto Hidrográfico, and in Spain, by our partner Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-BarcelonaTech (UPC). MELOA promoted the involvement of the marine community in the activities, to ensure the involvement of the community in the WAVYs' definition and testing.

The results were excellent, and the WAVY Littoral is now ready to be deployed in the several use cases foreseen for the surface drifter!
